Work From Home Essentials
We've all been working a little differently for the past year, but you may not have known that I actually worked from home before we all went into quarantine. As a day job, I work as a virtual designer with Havenly, and of course, I also run this little thing called EO Edits. You may have heard of it ;) So, working from home is not new to me and I've come up with a list of items that I think are essential to make working from home as productive and comfortable as possible. My biggest tip is to create a space that makes you feel good.
Good music is the quickest way to get motivated and get down to business. Noise-canceling headphones are the perfect way to zone in and eliminate outside distractions.
Staying hydrated is so important to your health and well-being throughout the day. A cute water bottle is a perfect way to be reminded to take a sip now and then. And side note: I always seem to reach my water goals easier when my water bottles have straws.
3. Coffee
Do I really need to explain? It's the main thing that gets me out of bed in the morning and fuels a great day!
When you work a regular 9-5, it is imperative to wear the right shoes to work not only for comfort but also to look stylish and complete your look. Well, when you work from home, you don't get to indulge in great footwear as often. But slippers! A great pair of slippers make you feel comfy and jazzes up your outfit just a little. I immediately feel a little more put together when I slip my feet into these cute cross slippers.
Diffuse invigorating and energizing scents throughout the day to spark creativity, refresh your workspace, and ignite the senses. My favorites are lime and peppermint.
The best part about working from home is that you can choose to work wherever you want. On a slower day, I'll grab my lap desk, put on an old favorite movie, and design right from the comfort of my sofa.
Getting all dolled up to go to work is a thing of the past but it's still fun to look cute throughout the day even if no one else is seeing you. I love quick, effortless hair accessories like tortoise clips for a stylish, put-together look. Plus, I can't be the only one who needs their hair up and out of the way when they're working!
Cute keyboard and laptop covers make me excited to pick up my laptop and get to work. It's really as simple as that!
This one is essential whether you're working in an office or working from home. A good lip balm (or multiple!) is key to your comfort throughout the day. Keep your favs in multiple locations so you always have one on hand when you need it!
When you're working hard, your eyes suffer. The type of work I do, for instance, involves lots of computer work and by Friday my eyes are screaming at me. Investing in some great blue light glasses has done wonders for my eyes and I can seriously tell a difference when I wear them vs. when I don't.
Sometimes you just need the accountability of a well-intentioned timer to get down to it and be your most productive.
For those of us who no longer have a commute to work that forces us to step outside, it's easy to go all day without seeing the sun. This lamp improves your sleep, energy, and mood.
