30 Before 30

In just a few short weeks, on May 2 to be exact, I'll turn 30! Originally, when I had planned to write this blog post we hadn't yet heard of COVID-19 and we weren't being told to stay inside and practice social distancing. Nonetheless, here we are and it is what it is. It's safe to say at this point that my 30th birthday is going to be a bit different than what I initially expected.

I'm actually not upset at all to get another year older and leave my 20s behind. I know to some people turning the big 3-0 is frightening. It's a huge milestone and it's natural to want to reflect on your life when you hit these milestones. I can't help but think about where my life is currently vs. where I expected it to be. I know I'm not the only one who thinks about things like this. Personally, I feel pretty lucky to say that I'm happy with what I've been able to accomplish so far with my life, even if I haven't been able to check off everything on this list yet.

I'd really encourage you to make a list similar to this that you can revisit at an important milestone in your life. It's inspiring to think of all of the things you'll want to accomplish and achieve. Not to mention, it feels great to look back and reminisce on all of the cool things you've already done. Everyone's list will look totally different depending on what is important to you. Anyways, here's my list:

20/30 isn't too bad! It's totally okay that not everything will be checked off before my birthday. And it's also okay and perfectly normal that I'm feeling a little sad that I won't be able to truly celebrate and see all of my friends and family as I move into a new chapter of my life. I'm just excited for the opportunity to continue making these memories, doing the things I want to do, and I expect that I'll get to completing this list at some point in my life! Once everything is back to normal at least...

What's one item you have on your bucket list? Do you have a 20 before 20, 30 before 30, 40 before 40 etc. list like this?
